Aims
TCTA aims to work with individuals, communities and groups to identify and address transport need.
Through our work we aim to maintain people’s freedom and independence, while their continued access to transport through us maintains their equality of opportunity, gives them wider lifestyle choices, and maintains and enhances their social contact and sense of wellbeing and therefore also supports their health.
About TCTA
We are a registered charity, [No. 1111501] and a Company Limited by Guarantee [No. 5384585].
We are governed by a board of volunteer Trustees, have 5 paid staff and currently around 60 Volunteer car Drivers.
Area Covered
Our main focus area is the 36 parishes of northern Torridge, from Welcombe to Winkleigh, but we do also provide transport out side of this area if it is required.
We currently operate; In addition we also involved with the following:
- School contract
During the school terms we operate a school contract on behalf of Devon County Council, transporting young people from the Frithelstockstone area into Torrington Secondary school. - Development Work
We have a Development Worker, Jane Williams, who is tasked with identifying and developing new transport initiatives.
